Otoy released Sculptron 1.1 adding flexibility with procedural textures and initial Alembic support.
Sculptron is a GPU-based sculpt-animate application that imports mesh sculpting into animation workflows with huge speed and very good performance. Now, You can animate scenes and objects with a large number of polygons, like 500K+ pure, not subpatched, especially when combining animated Sculpt Layers and Effects.
Sculptron 1.1 is only available for Windows 10. It does not support Intel GPUs and it requires OpenGL 4.6. That means both AMD and Nvidia cards should work.
The improvements of Sculptron 1.1 are:
- Alembic Support.
Alembic is an open computer graphics interchange framework. It refines complex, animated scenes into a non-procedural, application-independent set of baked geometric results. It's actually focused on efficiently storing the computed results of complex procedural geometric constructions. - Procedural and simple textures can be used as Alpha channels.
- Improved Viewport item selection.
- Windows Opacity Option.
